Verto life: A Rollercoaster ride

 Life at Lovely Professional University as a Freshmen

A south Indian's first visit to the other side of the country that too in Punjab as a student will be challenging. I am Bhavana currently doing my Master's in journalism and mass communication at lovely professional university Jalandhar. I come from the extreme end of India that is Kerala. For me it was like entering a new world of culture, language, food and people. Like everyone, I was anxious, nervous and a lot more emotions were going on inside me. After landing at Amritsar, meeting new people and communicating with them was my first challenge that too with my broken Hindi. But the people here are humble and helpful at the same time, which made me a little comfortable with the place. After the 2hr journey from Amritsar airport to the campus, the time has finally come. 

I am entering into many people's dream University. We went straight to the reporting area, the Unipolis auditorium, where I saw a mini India, with people from different cultures &  languages. The staff members were all so eager to meet all the freshmen of the year, they were so helpful and pleasing, making us feel comfortable in the campus. 

Since me and my sister have got admission at LPU both of us had to complete our reporting, it took almost an hour for us to complete the reporting, that's when we understood the temperature here is going to burn us up, it was so hot that all of us ran to our car to get to the hostel that both of us were allotted with, and coincidently we both became roommates as well and that was a happy ending day for us. 

It's been a week here at LPU and my classes have started. I have started meeting my teachers and classmates, still trying to memorize everyone's names and still in the process of breaking the shell around me. making new friends from different parts of India has been an amazing experience for me.

Talking about the faculty, they are so interactive and comfortable to talk with. Till now I am loving all the classes by all the faculties, as of now I am having a great life at LPU apart from the extreme heat that the state is facing. We will be meeting soon for further updates in my life as a Verto.
